The talk of the town for the last month has been Kenya’s hosting of the 6th annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). The event, shortened to #GES2015 on social media platforms, will be opened by the President of the United States, Barrack Obama, on 25th July 2015 at the United Nations offices in Gigiri, Nairobi.
The GES initiative was started in 2009 by President Obama seeking to enhance growth and entrepreneurship across the globe. On 24th July, as a precursor to the main Summit, the GES Youth and Women Day will convene over 150 youth and women entrepreneurs to commune with potential investors, speakers and leaders from around the world. Further, a select group of these youth and women entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to share their success stories, participate in skills training, and participate in a pitch competition.
Icon Sports Marketing is privileged to be represented in the Summit by Managing Director Grace Kiraguri. The invitation extended to Icon Sports recognizes not just the entrepreneurial spirit in the organisation, but also the role that women in leadership in this part of the world are playing.
We are proud of this recognition and look forward to a successful event. We also extend a warm welcome all GES 2015 guests and visitors, and hope they will get to experience Kenya’s renowned hospitality and more, as they attend the Global Summit in our beautiful country. Karibuni nyote!
